Galette is a membership management web application towards non profit organizations. It allows board members to know which fees will soon reach their due dates. Moreover, each member can review and update his personal information. Technical Requirements include a web server with PHP >= 4 support and a database (MySQL or PostgreSQL). Galette 0.63 is entirely PHP5 compatible (tested on php-5.3.1).

The name Galette is an acronym for “Gestionnaire d'Adhérents en Ligne Extrêmement Tarabiscoté mais Tellement Efficace”, freely translated to “Extremely Sophisticated but so Efficient On-Line Membership Manager”. The french word “galette” also means (popular) “Money”. Unfortunately, the translation removes all the fun !

November, 28th 2009: Galette 0.63.3 is cooked, lunch's ready !

This version fixes a security flaw found in the demonstration. Here is the changelog:

• fix a security flaw that allowed attacker to send arbitrary PHP files on some servers
• when sendind invalid member form, line dynamic fields were repeated (bug #10187)
• some encoding issues has been noticed on UFT-8 MySQL servers. Connection is now forced to LATIN1 (thanks to Cédric)
• unbreakable spaces appears on non html email (thanks to Cédric)
• using XML characters in mailing subjects causes XML analysis errors on preview (bug #14571)
• needless data were stored into logs (and not at the right place) sending mailings (bug #14569)
• XML analysis errors where thrown on logs page when a member card contains reserved characters (bug #14561)
• html tags in mailing were not showed while previewing a mailing under Firefox (bug #14465)

October, 6th 2009: The Galette Team is glad to announce the release of Galette 0.63.2!

It's a corrective version, here are issues that have been fixed:

• membership's deadline was incorrect for a fiscal year (bug #13010)
• donations didn't appear in the right color in the table (bug #13009)
• history entries when adding or editing a contribution did not contains member's login - as when adding/editing a member (bug #13011)
• on windows, some characters were incorrectly interpreted - “\n” for example (bug #14162)
• when saving a picture (PNG format), alpha channel was not saved, causing image to get a default background color (bug #14327)
• restrictions showing pictures (since 0.63.1) prevents custom logo to display correctly (bug #14442)
• when editing member's language, current session was also translated (bug #14443)
• some characters - like simple quotes - were badly encoded mailings subjects (bug #14449)
• mail sending were always active, even if disabled in preferences (bug #14450)

You can now download the latest release from: http://download.gna.org/galette/galette-0.63.2.tgz

If you're already using Galette >= 0.63, you do not have to upgrade, database was not modified. Just copy the new files and you're done

This new version has been waiting for ages, but is no longer

If you have problems or incoherences in the page(s), feel free to report them to us. Simply note that Internet Explorer 6 antiquity is no longer supported, and that's what we want

May, 21th 2009: The Galette Team is glad to announce the release of Galette 0.63.1!

It's a corrective version, here's the changelog:

• some preferences were not updated at install time
• on some web hosting services, exif functions are not available. In this case, we use GD (bug #12836)
• XHTML was sometimes not well formed, due to PHP sessions (bug #13071)
• fix PHP notices in the logs (patch #1133)
• remove of posix functions which are deprecated in PHP 5.3
• add of a .htaccess file to prevent read of uploaded photos from the web

If you're already running Galette 0.63, you do not have to run install again, database was not modified. Just copy the new files and you're done

January, 6th 2009: The Galette Team is glad to announce the release of Galette 0.63!

For those who don't know Galette yet, it is a Project to manage the members of your association. Galette is a Free software, licensed under the GPL licence. In French, Galette means Extremely Sophisticated but so Efficient On-Line Membership Manager (in French, a “Galette” is a sort of cake, usually French people eats the “Galette des rois” for the Epiphany).

Here are the updates for the new version:

• Added transaction management,
• Added dynamic fields management, to add more fields and to translate their labels easily,
• Members can now self subscribe to your association,
• Use of the Smarty template engine, for which the rewriting of all the html pages as compliant XHTML was necessary,
• Update ADODB 4.7.1 to 4.9.2,
• Use of gettext for translations,
• Added Spanish translation (the translation is not yet over),
• It is now possible to upload a personal logo,
• So much bugs corrections.

The packaged installation program allows you to update your previous Galette version. The update is then much more easy to achieved.
